Hello 2020! Hope you have all had a nice start to the year despite all the not so good events that have already taken place around the world. I just wanted to give a quick update and share what I have been up to.
Prints and Zine
I will be having a few prints up for sale very soon, I will update with another blog post and if you follow me on Instagram, I will let you know on there as well when the print shop goes live.
The zine work has been a little slow going. It’s been hard shooting in the winter but I have gotten some rolls back and have new additions to the zine. However, I have decided not to limit myself to just shooting with my Mamiya 7/7II and I will be incorporating some 35mm as well. I am sending out my Mamiya 7/7II out to get a CLA and at that time I will mostly shoot 35mm. It gives me a little more flexibility and I can shoot with a bigger aperture. Hope to have it all done before or early summer.
New Instagram Account
I started a new instagram account, snapshotalbert. Please follow to view more random stuff from the past and to photos that will not make it to my main account. I want to keep my work more consistent on my main instagram account and sort of just post my best photos on there. Not that these other photos aren’t good but sometimes it doesn’t fit in. I have also been going through older photos and I kind of want a space for them as well.
Canon EOS 3 and Other Camera Updates
I got a new 35mm camera, a Canon EOS 3. I have a lot of EF glass so I decided I should utilize that with my film photography. It gives me more options since the only 35mm camera I have is a Leica M4 with a 35mm lens. While the M4 is a great camera, it is limiting. I only shot a roll of portra 400 with the EOS 3 but I will be shooting my zine photos with it when my Mamiya 7/7II are out for a few weeks. And after I shoot with it more, I will give my thoughts on it.
Kodak Ektachrome
I finished shooting a whole box of 120 Kodak Ektachrome. I am will share a few photos here but I will write a full blog post on my thoughts about it and I also did a little comparison with Provia 100.
Photos from the Jersey Shore
I wanted shoot some Ektachrome is some bright light and to also test out the Canon EOS 3. I just shot a roll of Ektachrome with my Mamiya 7, switched to some Kodak Portra when the sun was setting. For the Canon EOS 3, I just shot one roll of Portra 400. Enjoy!
